Music Staff,
I want to share the exciting news below that the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District has been recognized by NAMM as one of the Best 100 Music Education Communities in the United States. This is no doubt in part to the wonderful teaching you provide and the support we receive from our district and community!
As some of you are aware, this recognition does not come easy and I am more than overjoyed that the entire country will be aware of the great music community we have. In the coming weeks you can expect to see considerable press regarding this announcement and I hope that you will use this designation in all of your print and electronic materials.
Congrats to everyone...this is tremendous news!!!
Phil Mortensen, Coordinator
Dear Mr. Mortensen,
Earlier this year you completed the “Best Communities for Music Education” survey on the NAMM Foundation Web site, and this e-mail address was provided as part of that submission.
I’m pleased to inform you that your community has been selected as a 2010 Best Communities for Music Education designee. The NAMM Foundation will be making a formal announcement of all 2010 designees to national consumer and music products industry media on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. The press release and list of communities is now available at www.nammfoundation.org.
Your school will receive a “Best Communities for Music Education" recognition certificate and decals with this designation to help you mark this achievement. In the coming weeks, we will also actively alert newspapers and other media outlets in every community on the 2010 designee list. You may find your local music education system featured in the local press. Please be prepared to field inquiries from the media.
Lastly, the NAMM Foundation is locating members of NAMM, the trade association for the music products industry, to assist in creating local presentation events that will further highlight your receipt of this recognition. You may be contacted in the coming weeks to explore this opportunity further.
Congratulations to you and your school district for the example you set in providing quality school-based music education programs to young people in your community. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to contact me by return e-mail.
Sincerely,
Lisa Cesarano
